Pattaya police raid an illegal gambling party in the Pattaya area

Bang Lamung, Chonburi –

Pattaya Police raided an illegal gambling party yesterday in Bang Lamung, Chonburi. Ten alleged gamblers were arrested.

On April 2nd, 2022, the Superintendent of Pattaya Police Station Kunlachart Kunlachai and 20 officers from the Crime Suppression Division raided a gambling party hidden in Soi Thappraya 15, Pattaya City, Nong Prue sub-district, Bang Lamung, Chonburi. Ten people were reportedly arrested with gambling tools such as cups, dice, scoreboards, and roosters for an alleged illegal rooster fight.Prior to the raid, the officers received a call from an undercover agent notifying law enforcement that a gambling party was secretly being held in an abandoned area in Soi Thappraya 15. Following the officer’s statement, the gamblers suddenly dispersed in all directions when law enforcement arrived, and some fled by climbing over walls. Eventually, however, 10 people were arrested and awaited further charges. In the end, Superintendent Kulachat urged people to immediately report any form of illegal gambling in Pattaya area to Pattaya Police Station.

TPN media notes that Thailand has some of the strictest anti-gambling laws in the world. Cock-fighting is technically legal, however, but gambling on the fights is against the law.
