Thailand reported a total of 25,821 daily Covid-19 infections with 84 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, March 27th.
The fatalities were 48 men and 36 women with the highest rate in Bangkok with 8. All of them were Thai nationals. The age range was between 6 and 104 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including cancer (7), kidney disease (25), obesity (4), stroke (11), and heart disease (17). Nine of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 25,821 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 259 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 70 were from prisons, and the remaining 56 were imported cases.
A number of 251,936 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 1,672 patients are in critical condition including 644 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.66 percent of cases that are critical while 38.51 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,749, followed by Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 1,537, Chonburi with 1,293, Samut Sakhon with 955, Samut Prakan with 870, and Songkhla with 783.
A total number of 250,033 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 69,048 people had received their first shots, 22,104 people had received their second shots, and 158,881 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 79.5% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 72.2% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 33.2% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 24,066 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 3,529,085 cases with 3,252,350 recoveries and a total of 24,799 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
