Chonburi –
A 39-year-old woman has sustained injuries after she was reportedly stabbed by her ex-boyfriend in the Mueang Chonburi district.
The Don Hualor Police was notified of the incident at 2:00 A.M. yesterday, Thursday, March 24th, at a dormitory in the Don Hualor sub-district.
Emergency responders and police arrived at the scene to find Ms. Tipaphon Siaru, 39. She had sustained severe injuries from a stab wound to her belly.
Another man, who was identified by Don Hualor police only as Mr. A, had sustained injuries from a knife wound to his shoulder. They were both taken to a local hospital for medical assistance. The relationship of the injured man to the couple was not immediately made clear by any party involved.
Don Hualor police later arrested the main suspect nearby, Mr. Pattanayu Sumotayakun, 22, who was still in possession of a kitchen knife, believed to be the weapon used in the armed assault. He was taken to a local police station for further legal action. Pattanayu declined to speak to the press.
The dormitory caretaker, Mr. Sittichai Nuasawai, 35, told TPN media that the altercation had been caused by a dispute between the two men over Tipaphon and her affections, but this was not confirmed by either party.
As of press time, the two injured people remained under medical care while Pattanayu remained in custody facing charges of armed assault, which may be upgraded to attempted murder based on the ongoing investigation. Don Hualor Police were waiting to interview Tipaphon and Mr. A before finalizing any additional charges.
