Chonburi announces 1,090 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and one new death

Highlights:

  • 1,090 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 6,579 positive ATK (rapid antigen) tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR. TPN notes, however, that second confirmed tests are no longer mandatory except for high-risk groups.
  • 886 (PCR) and 3,307 (ATK) recovered and were released from medical care
  • One new death

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 1,090 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with one new death, March 25th, 2022.

This makes a total of 69,413 cases (PCR) and 115,968 cases (ATK) of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 12,664 (PCR) and 51,009 (ATK) people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 125 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 886 (PCR) and 3,307(ATK) people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 56,624 (PCR) and 64,595 (ATK) people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
Three people were listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or pneumonia. All of them were vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic at 99.634 percent.
The one new death was aged 65 with severe personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. ฺThe person was not vaccinated.
In total, 2,029,099 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 87.12 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 306,741 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 82.92 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
917,981 people have received their triple dose which is 39.41 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 158,947 are 608 groups which are 42.97 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 232, Si Racha 291, Banglamung (Pattaya) 237, Panat Nikhom 18, Sattahip 106, Ban Bueng 41, Phan Thong 63, ฺBor Thong 13, Ko Chan 3, Nong Yai 8, Ko Si Chang 5, and 73 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.

The details on the cases are as follows:

  1. Work and stayed in Rayong, transferred from other provinces for medical care, 53 cases
  2. Cluster, Thai NOK company in Mueang Chonburi, 8 cases
  3. Cluster, Toyota Gosei company in Phan Thong, 3 cases
  4. Risky occupations meeting many people, 21 cases
  5. 30 medical personnel
  6. Back from Yasothorn
  7. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 260 cases, in workplaces –67 cases, close personal contacts – 55 cases, and joined a party – 2 case
  8. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 28 cases
  9. 256 cases of close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
