Ban Bueng –

A five-meter-long python has been caught after reportedly eating a chicken in Ban Beung early yesterday morning.

The python was caught by rescue workers, who had received a call from a local farmer in the Bueng sub-district before dawn yesterday morning, March 22nd, when the resident went to feed the chickens. The farmer, who requested their name withheld, was spooked by the snake and called authorities for assistance.

Rescue workers arrived at the scene to find the python was inside the chicken coop. It took about five minutes to catch the massive python before the sneaky serpent was placed into a sack and removed from the area.

The farmer who first reported the snake stated that one of his chickens was missing, presumed eaten. The python will be released into a secluded forest away from people, but not harmed, in the Chonburi area according to animal control officers.
