Massive electrical cable fire near restaurants alarms locals in Sri Racha

Sri Racha –

Electric cables caught fire on a local road in a restaurant district, alarming locals in Sri Racha.

Sri Racha firefighters were notified of the fire yesterday morning around dawn (March 18th) near a noodle restaurant in Soi Sri Racha Nakhon 4 in the Sri Racha sub-district. This particular area has multiple businesses and restaurants, notes TPN media.

Firefighters with two fire engines arrived at the scene to find a growing electrical fire was already ablaze.

It took about 20 minutes to put out and control the fire. Cables and electric wires had been damaged but luckily firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby buildings and businesses.

Ms. Thippawan Khawsaard, 24, a noodle seller, told TPN media, “I was preparing to open my noodle restaurant when I heard some sparking. I ran out to find cables and wires were on fire. I cleared out my co-workers and immediately called the fire department, who I thank for responding very quickly and efficiently.”

Electric was shut off and traffic was restricted while staff from the electric authority office fixed affected cables. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the blaze is reportedly under investigation.
