Chonburi –

A 26-year-old driver has sustained severe injuries while a pet cat died after a pickup truck driver crashed into a tree in the Bor Thong district.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident on Nong Samet Road in the Tat Thong sub-district earlier this week. They arrived at the scene to find the driver Mr. Chawananon Rattapan, 26, stuck inside the overturned pickup truck. It took about half an hour to free him out from the heavily damaged vehicle. He had broken both of his legs and was taken to a local hospital.

Inside the pickup truck, first response teams found a dead cat, reportedly Mr. Rattapan’s pet that had been riding with him.

At this stage, police believe that Mr. Rattapan was driving at high speed before losing control at a curve and crashing into the tree.
