Pattaya, Chonburi –
Danish golfer Nanna Koerstz Madsen won Honda LPGA Thailand 2022 at Siam Country Club Old Course, Pattaya, with a birdie and an eagle in a playoff against Xiyu “Janet” Lin from China, becoming the first golfer from Denmark to win this championship.
On the last day of the tournament, March 13th, Koerstz Madsen also broke a new overall record score of 26 under, breaking Jessica Korda’s lowest record of 25 under in 2018.
The 27-year-old LPGA winner said: “I was a little nervous at the beginning but still could make birdies and keep the good work until the playoff. I’m proud of the results this week and eventually won the first championship in LPGA tour.”
Lin said after the playoff loss: “I didn’t win the championship but I’m proud because that’s my lowest ever shot in a tournament week. I played very well, but Nanna did better.”
