Chonburi announces 1,434 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and three new deaths

Highlights:

  • 1,434 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 1,155 positive ATK (rapid antigen) tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR.

  • 821 (PCR) and 591 (ATK) recovered and were released from medical care

  • Three new deaths

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 1,434 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with three new deaths, February 27th, 2022.

This makes a total of 65,528 cases (PCR,ATK) of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 11,260 (PCR) and 10,627 (ATK) people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 48 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 821 (PCR) and 591(ATK) people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 27,596 (PCR) and 15,997 (ATK) people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
Four people were listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or pneumonia. One of them was not vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic-99.1 percent to be exact.
The three new deaths were at the age of 61, 85, and 87 with personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. All of them were not vaccinated.
In total, 1,982,074 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 85.10 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 304,774 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 82.39 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
793,273 people have received their triple dose of a Covid vaccine which is 34.06 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 135,493 are 608 groups which are 36.63 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 300, Si Racha 456, Banglamung (Pattaya) 333, Panat Nikhom 15, Sattahip 79, Ban Bueng 55, Phan Thong 77, ฺBor Thong 4, Nong Yai 5, and 110 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.

  6. Risky occupations meeting many people, 48 cases
  7. 14 medical personnel
  8. 12 back from other provinces from Bangkok (5), Nakhon Sawan (1), Phuket (1), Loei (1), Ayutthaya (1), Udon Thani (1), Nonthaburi (1), and Nakhon Ratchasima (1).
  9. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 273 cases, in workplaces –190 cases, close personal contacts – 99 cases, and joined a party – 8 cases
  10. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 63 cases
  11. 615 cases close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
