Chonburi –

A 35-year-old driver has sustained several injuries after two trailer trucks crashed in the Mueang Chonburi district.

The Mueang Chonburi Police were notified of the accident earlier this week on Motorway 7 Section 2 in the Nong Kangkok sub-district.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find two damaged trailer trucks on the road. One driver, Mr. Suppachart Sarai, 35, was stuck inside the cab of his vehicle. It took more than half an hour to free him out. He was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

Mr. Suppachart told Mueang Chonburi Police “The vehicle in front of me slowed down suddenly without warning. I was unable to stop a collision. This was not my fault, however, it was the fault of the vehicle in front of me for slowing dramatically.”

The other trailer truck driver, who was not injured, Mr. Tanakrit Tanchana, 50, told law enforcement, “Another vehicle was making a U-turn before I slowed down. Mr. Suppachart was following too closely and crashed into the back of my vehicle. The accident was his fault.”

Mueang Chonburi police were set to examine CCTV at the scene and determine which of the two different tales was the factual series of events and file charges based on the footage.
