Thailand discovered a total of 14,900 daily Covid-19 infections with 26 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, February 14th.
The fatalities were 10 men and 16 women with the highest deaths recorded in Bangkok with 9. 24 of them were Thai nationals, one was a Myanmar national, and one was stateless. The age range was between 45 and 99 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (12), diabetes (10), hyperlipidemia (5), obesity (2), and kidney disease (3). Two of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 14,475 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 135 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 98 were from prisons, and the remaining 192 were imported cases.
A number of 129,933 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 687 patients are in critical condition including 138 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.52 percent of cases that are critical while 20.0 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,892, followed by Samut Prakan with 888, Nonthaburi with 611, Chonburi with 590, Nakhon Ratchasima with 567, and Phuket with 486.
A total number of 276,153 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 18,966 people had received their first shots, 11,802 people had received their second shots, and 245,385 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 75.9% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 70.8% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 25.9% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 9,810 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 2,608,227 cases with 2,455,832 recoveries and a total of 22,462 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
