Chonburi announces 590 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and no new deaths

  • 590 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 454 positive ATK tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR.
  • 459 people recovered and were released from medical care

  • No new deaths

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 590 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with no new deaths, February 14th, 2022.

This makes a total of 25,523 cases of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 6,614 people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 32 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 459 people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 18,877 people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
One person was listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or pneumonia. The person received one dose of a Covid vaccine, and one was double vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic.
In total, 1,959,117 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 84.12 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 302,870 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 81.87 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
730,474 people have received their triple dose which is 30.20 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 121,137 are 608 groups which is 32.75 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 148, Si Racha 123, Banglamung (Pattaya) 117, Panat Nikhom 28, Sattahip 55, Ban Bueng 21, Phan Thong 39, ฺBor Thong 3, Ko Chan 1, Nong Yai 5, and 50 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.
The details on the cases are as follows:
1. Work and stayed in Rayong, transferred from other provinces for medical care, 38 cases
2. Cluster, Thai NOK company in Mueang Chonburi, 4 cases
3. Risky occupations meeting many people, 15 cases
4. 8 medical personnel
5. 3 back from other provinces from Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Samut Prakan
6. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 148 cases, in workplaces –78 cases, close personal contacts – 42 cases, and joined a party – 5 cases
7. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 18 cases
8. 231  cases close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
