Chonburi announces 785 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and two new deaths

Highlights:

  • 785 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 519 positive ATK tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR.
  • 389 people recovered and were released from medical care

  • Two new deaths

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 785 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with two new deaths, February 11th, 2022.

This makes a total of 23,406 cases of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 5,738 people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 30 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 389 people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 17,638 people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
Two people were listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or pneumonia. Both of them were not vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic.
The two new deaths were aged eight months and another aged 56 with personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. Both of them were not vaccinated.
In total, 1,955,870 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 83.98 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 302,175 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 81.68 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
666,080 people have received their triple dose which is 29.07 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 116,802 are 608 groups which are 31.57 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 195, Si Racha 213, Banglamung (Pattaya) 135, Panat Nikhom 35, Sattahip 66, Ban Bueng 22, Phan Thong 46, ฺBor Thong 3, Ko Chan 10, Nong Yai 2, Koh Sichang 1, and 68 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.

2.  Cluster, Fujitsu General company in Si Racha, 9 cases
3. Cluster, H-One Parts company in Si Racha, 6 cases
4. Cluster, Siam Michelin company in Si Racha, 4 cases
5. Cluster, Si Racha Construction work site in Si Racha, 3 cases
6. Cluster, Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing company in Phan Thong, 7 cases
7. Cluster, Usui Corperation in Phan Thong, 7 cases
8.  Cluster, Thai NOK company in Mueang Chonburi, 3 cases
9. Risky occupations meeting many people, 22 cases
10. 6 medical personnel
11. 12 back from other provinces from Bangkok (6), Lopburi (2), Nakhon Nayok (1),                Ayutthaya (1), Samut Prakan (1) and Surin (1)
12. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 184 cases, in workplaces –     99 cases, close personal contacts – 62 cases, and joined a party – 6 case
13. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 50 cases
14. 246 cases close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
