Mueang Chonburi –
A 55-year-old man emerged unscathed after his SUV crashed into a wall before catching fire in the Mueang Chonburi district this week.
The Saensuk Police were notified of the accident after midnight on Thursday (February 9th) on Angsila – Bangsaen road. Law enforcement, firefighters, first responders, and TPN media arrived at the scene to find a white SUV that was on fire directly crashed into a wall.
The driver of the SUV, Mr. Nopphon Wirutpet, 55, who was completely uninjured, told TPN reporters, “I lost control of my vehicle, veering into the opposite lane before crashing into a wall, which immediately set my SUV on fire. Luckily I was not injured and managed to escape the vehicle quickly with the help of a bystander, calling emergency services for assistance.”
Mr. Dutsadee Susatit, 32, the bystander and Good Samaritan, told TPN media, “I helped the driver, Mr. Nopphon, out after the accident. I’m not a hero, I just saw somebody in need and decided to respond without thinking.”
Saensuk Police officials are investigating what exactly caused Mr. Nopphon to lose control of his vehicle, which Nopphon did not elaborate on. No charges were immediately placed, however, were not ruled out by Saensuk Police.
