Thailand discovered a total of 9,172 daily Covid-19 infections with 21 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, February 3rd.
The fatalities were 11 men and 10 women. All of them were Thai nationals. The age range was between 38 and 92 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (2), diabetes (5), hyperlipidemia (2), obesity (2), and kidney disease (3). Six of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 8,855 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 34 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 61 were from prisons, and the remaining 222 were imported cases.
A number of 84,413 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 517 patients are in critical condition including 107 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.61 percent of cases that are critical while 20.6 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 1,432, followed by Samut Prakan with 854, Chonburi with 399, Phuket with 395, Nonthaburi with 324, and Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 194.
A total number of 289,389 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 27,476 people had received their first shots, 49,312 people had received their second shots, and 212,601 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 75.3% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 70.1% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 21.1% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 7,832 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 2,465,723 cases with 2,359,082 recoveries and a total of 22,228 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
