Thailand reports 8,618 daily Covid-19 infections with 19 additional deaths

Thailand reported 8,329 domestic cases of Covid-19 with 73 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 216 imported cases, marking a total of 8,618 daily infections, with 19 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

This makes a total of 200,665 cases of Covid-19 since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 149,512 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 8,358 people were released yesterday. Among 8,329 local new domestic cases, excluding the cases in the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces was discovered in ฺBangkok with 1,483, Samut Prakan with 790, Chonburi with 395, Nonthaburi with 368 and Phuket with 366.

The fatalities were 11 men and 18 women ( All Thais) with an average age between 24 to 96. 90 percent of them had prior health issues or were elderly.

Three of them reportedly had previous chronic health problems. Fourteen of them were aged more than 60. Two of them did not report personal health problems.

Thailand has a total of 114,577,194 vaccines given, with 48,407 first jabs, 95,037-second doses, and 346,329 third doses given yesterday.
