Chonburi –

A fire has completely destroyed a joss sticks (type of incense) warehouse in Ban Bueng over the past weekend.

Firefighters were notified of the fire at a warehouse in Soi Intara, Ban Bueng. They arrived at the scene with ten fire engines to find the fire was heavily ablaze. It took more than one hour to control the fire. The warehouse and a fork lift truck were completely destroyed.

Mr. Boontan Aunsura, 62, told TPN media that it was a staff holiday on the day the fire broke out, Sunday, January 9th. No one was working at the warehouse as a result of the holiday and the warehouse was closed.

As there was nobody on the premises, there were no injuries and only significant property damage recorded. The exact damage estimate in baht was still being tabulated by Boontan and officials as of press time.

The Chonburi Forensic Police are continuing their investigation to find the exact cause of the fire but early reports from their investigators point towards a possible short circuit. It is unknown if the warehouse had insurance.
