Phan Thong –
A woman and her small pet dog have survived after a pickup truck driver who said he fell asleep at the wheel slammed into her house in the Phan Thong district.
The Phan Thong Police was notified of the accident at 5:30 P.M. Thursday (January 6th) on the Phan Thong – Baan Gao Road in the Baan Gao sub-district.
The police arrived at the scene to find the damaged pickup truck in a ditch. A house and three power poles nearby were damaged.
Ms. Angkana Saejan, 41, told TPN media, “I was sitting in front of the house when the accident took place with the driver plunging his truck from a curve into the home. I picked up the dog from nearby and ran away from the house. I was very lucky to escape because the pickup truck driver ran through the house and caused significant damage.”

The pickup truck driver, whose name was withheld by law enforcement, stated to TPN media, “I fell asleep before I lost control of my pickup truck and crashed into the house and power poles.”
The Phan Thong Police said the driver is facing charges of reckless driving causing damage and was arrested at the scene.
