Naklua, Pattaya-
The Thai-Bangladeshi Community (TBC) celebrated the 50th Bangladeshi Victory Day in Naklua, North of Pattaya, at the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort on Thursday, December 16th, 2021.
TPN staff attended the event and enjoyed the numerous festivities, as well as learned a lot about Victory Day.
First, from Wikipedia:
Victory Day is a national holiday in Bangladesh celebrated on 16 December to commemorate the victory of the Bangladesh forces over the Pakistani forces in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. The Commanding officer of the Pakistani Forces General AAK Niazi surrendered with his forces to the allied forces of Bangladesh, which marked the end of the 9 month-long[1] Bangladesh Liberation War and the 1971 Bangladesh genocide and official secession of East Pakistan into Bangladesh.
TPN media has been at several prior events organized by the Thai-Bangladeshi community this year, as seen HERE and HERE.
The Victory Day event also featured delicious food and live performances from Little Star Lia Sikder and Thai Performer Achan Muk, as well as The Eminent Singer of The Subcontinent Mr. Monir Khan.
The event was attended by a number of prestigious guests from the community and the local government, including Deputy Pattaya mayor Banlue Kullavanijaya.
