Variegated plants worth more than 100,000 baht stolen from the Pattaya Food and Herb Fair

Variegated plants worth more than 100,000 baht have been stolen from the Pattaya Food and Herb Fair.

The Pattaya News has received complaints from four Variegated plants sellers at the Pattaya Food and Herb Fair at Xzyte Square Pattaya.

  1. Ms. Panadda Udomnark, 42, said she lost Variegated plants worth in total 32,900 baht.
  2. Ms. Sudarat Sangsuriya, 34, said she lost Variegated plants worth in total 20,800 baht.
  3. Mr. Kanisorn Wongkaew, 52, said he lost Variegated plants worth in total 90,000 baht.
  4. Ms. Ilada Kim, 25, said she lost a Variegated plant worth 500 baht.

They have already reported the alleged theft to the Pattaya City Police for a total of 112,700 baht of lost Variegated plants allegedly that have been stolen.

CCTV footage shown to TPN media appears to show a suspected male thief, of unknown nationality, appearing to be in his early to mid thirties, and wearing a hat and mask, stealing these plants on December 19th between 6:00 A.M. to 7:00 A.M. from the herb fair which was closed during these hours.

Ms. Sudarat told TPN media, “The thief cut off several plants leaves and took their roots which can be grown. There were no security guards at that time in the area. This thief appeared to know what they were doing and had a knowledge of botany, targeting specific plants and types.”

Police are reportedly looking into the incident and theft.
