Thailand discovered a total of 4,193 daily Covid-19 infections with 28 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, December 10th.
The fatalities were 15 men and 13 women with the most numbers recorded in Phetchabun with 4. 27 of them were Thai nationals and one was a Myanmar national. The age range was between 48 and 101 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (9), diabetes (5), hyperlipidemia (1), obesity (1), and kidney disease (3). Two of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 4,087 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 56 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 21 were from prisons, and the remaining 29 were imported cases.
A number of 56,717 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 1,132 patients are in critical condition including 314 on ventilators. This is roughly 1.99 percent of cases that are critical while 27.7 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 629, followed by Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 460, Songkhla with 213, Chonburi with 175, Samut Prakan with 155, and Pattani with 143.
A total number of 480,012 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 165,318 people had received their first shots, 219,253 people had received their second shots, and 95,441 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 69.0% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 59.8% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 5.6% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 7,863 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 2,160,780 cases with 2,082,951 recoveries and a total of 21,084 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
