Chonburi –

An intoxicated man has sustained serious injuries after reportedly getting into a knife fight with a “friend” in Mueang Chonburi on Sunday (October 31st).

The Mueang Chonburi Police were notified of the incident at an onsite company dormitory in the Nong Kangkok sub-district. The name of the company was withheld pending further investigation, according to law enforcement.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the injured man Mr. Boonsong Saenart, 40. He had sustained serious injuries from slash wounds to his neck and face and was rushed to a local hospital for assistance.

His friend, Mr. Kriengkrai Janpon, 40, told Mueang Chonburi police, “Mr. Boonsong, who was heavily intoxicated, came to visit me while I was staying in my room. He started to argue with me before attacking me. I was just defending myself and did nothing wrong.”

Kriengkrai declined to explain what the argument was about.

Co-workers at the company dormitory told Mueang Chonburi police the two men are good friends who normally like to drink alcohol together. However, the co-workers also stated that the company had a rule that if anyone was found drinking in the dormitories they would be immediately fired.

Boonsong remained at a local hospital as of press time and police were reportedly still determining the exact sequence of events and what legal charges would apply.
