24-year-old man seriously injured after crashing his motorbike into a parked pickup truck in Chonburi

A 24-year-old motorbike rider has sustained severe injuries after he crashed his motorbike into a parked pickup truck in Mueang Chonburi.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident on Sukhumvit Road near an intersection leading to the Bang Plasoi sub-district over the past weekend.

The first response teams arrived at the scene to find a damaged pickup truck that had been carrying scaffolding parked on the side of the road.

The motorbike driver, Mr. Apaiphong Manaphong, 24, had sustained severe head injuries. His damaged motorbike was found nearby and he was rushed to a local hospital.

The pickup truck driver, Mr. Anucha Choojai, 57, told TPN media, “I was eating at a restaurant nearby when the motorbike crashed into my parked pickup truck on the side of the road.”

Police are checking CCTV footage nearby to determine the exact sequence of events and determine if any potential legal action would be taken or if Mr. Anucha had parked properly.
