Intoxicated driver seriously injured after crashing his motorbike into a Si Racha power pole

An intoxicated driver has sustained serious injuries after he crashed his motorbike into a power pole in Si Racha early yesterday morning (October 26th).

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 1:00 A.M. behind a temple in the Nong Kham sub-district.

They arrived at the scene to find Mr. Suwit Mueangsang, 22, near the high voltage power pole. He had sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Nearby, rescue workers found Suwit’s damaged motorbike.

Mr. Suwit was heavily injured but still conscious and cognizant and told emergency responders, “I was driving after a few drinks before colliding with the power pole.”

Suwit remained in a local medical facility as of press time. It was unclear if any charges would be immediately pressed against him, according to Si Racha police.
