Chonburi –

An early morning fire has destroyed three houses in Mueang Chonburi just before sunrise on Tuesday morning, October 5th, 2021.

Firefighters were notified of the fire at 5:30 A.M. earlier this week in the Bang Plasoi sub-district.

Fire fighting teams arrived at the scene with multiple fire engines to find three wooden houses that were heavily ablaze. It took more than an hour to control the fire, and unfortunately, all three wooden homes were totally destroyed. Luckily, there were injuries to people reported from the incident.

Mr. Pongpetch Chongchagana, 78, the owner of the house where the fire reportedly originally broke out told the associated Thai press, “I live in the house with my adult daughter. We were sleeping when the blaze broke out.”

“I woke up due to the smell of burning and found that the fire had already started and was filling my home with a substantial amount of smoke. I quickly woke up my daughter and we both managed to escape the home safely.” Pongpetch stated.

One of the other house owners, Mr. Pisan Intaraksa, 58, told reporters, “I was at a market nearby purchasing breakfast. My neighbors called me about the fire before I rushed back home, but found my home had already been completely destroyed. I live alone and nobody was injured.”

Mueang Chonburi police stated that they were planning on having further discussions with Mr. Pongpetch to determine what exactly caused the blaze. It was not immediately known if any of the house owners had insurance that would cover the incident.
