RECAP: Thailand reports 14,176 daily Covid-19 infections with 228 additional deaths, 826,013 new vaccinated people reported nationwide in the past 24 hours

Thailand discovered a total of 14,176 daily Covid-19 infections with 228 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today, September 8th.

The fatalities were 113 men and 115 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 50. Of that, 221 were Thai nationals, three were Myanmar nationals, two were Chinese nationals, one of each was a Lao and British national. The age range was between 6 months and 100 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, and obesity. Three of the fatalities were bedridden patients.

Of the new cases, 11,940 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,714 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 506 were from prisons, and the remaining 16 were imported cases.

A number of 142,644 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 4,387 patients are in critical condition including 960 on ventilators. This is roughly 3.07 percent of cases that are critical while 21.8 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,691, followed by Samut Prakan with 995, Chonburi with 846, Samut Sakhon with 641, Ratchaburi with 528, and Rayong with 473.

A total number of 826,013 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 399,650 people had received their first shots, 424,676 people had received their second shots, and 1,687 people had received their third shots.

As of today, 16,769 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,322,519 cases with 1,166,364 recoveries and a total of 13,511 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
