Intoxicated brothers get into fight with plastic chairs and other makeshift weapons in Pattaya area, one suffers serious head injury

Banglamung, Pattaya, Thailand –

A 45-year-old man has sustained head injuries after being reportedly attacked by his elder brother in Banglamung over the past weekend.

The Nongprue Police were notified of the incident at 10:10 P.M. Sunday night, (April 18th), near the Chockchai Market.

They and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find Mr. Wasan Kongthong, 45, who had sustained head injuries and was lying on the ground in pain. He was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

Mr. Panuwat Kongthong, 52, the suspect and older brother of the victim, was waiting for police at the scene.

He told Nongprue police, “My brother and I (Mr. Wasan, the injured party) were drinking alcohol for several hours. My brother accused me that I told his new wife intimate details about his ex-wife. His new wife was reportedly angry. I said nothing of the sort.”

“We were arguing before he started a physical confrontation. My younger brother hit me with a plastic chair which caused me to defend myself with a wooden stick.” Panuwat stated.

Mr. Panuwat was not taken to the Nongprue police station as Nongprue police said it was a family argument and both men declined initially to press charges against each other. However, if Mr. Wasan later wanted to press charges against his brother, police will continue their investigation.
