Thailand announced 1,384 domestic infections among a total of 1,390 new Covid-19 Coronavirus daily cases with three additional deaths in the past 24 hours, Deputy CCSA spokesperson Apisamai Sriransan announced this morning, April 19th.
The fatalities were a 56-year-old waiter at an entertainment venue in Bangkok with underlying conditions of high blood pressure and a previous stroke; an 84-year-old woman from Bangkok with an underlying disease of diabetes, high blood pressure, and coronary artery disease; and a 61-year-old woman from Prachuap Khiri Khan with underlying diseases of high blood pressure, thyroid disease, and diabetes.
Regarding domestic infections, the first group of 293 local infections was discovered in Bangkok. 68 of them were reportedly connected to entertainment venues, 18 were from community markets and villages, and the other 207 infections were connected to other risky places.
The second group includes 210 cases that were reported in Bangkok’s vicinity. 20 of them were reportedly connected to entertainment venues, six were from community markets and villages, and the other 184 cases were connected to other risky places.
The last group includes 881 domestic infections that were found in other provinces. 85 of them were connected to entertainment venues, 26 were from community markets and villages, and 770 of them were connected to other risky places. The majority of the group was discovered in Chiang Mai alone with 197 infections, followed by Chonburi with 97.
As of today, 104 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 43,742 cases with 28,787 recoveries and a total of 104 deaths since the start of the pandemic. About 9,219 people received their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccination and another 843 people received their second shot yesterday, marking a total number of 618,581 vaccinated people in Thailand who have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
