Driver dies after he plunges his car into Chonburi power pole

Chonburi –

A driver has been pronounced dead after he crashed his car into a power pole in Chonburi.

The Mueang Chonburi Police were notified of the accident over the past weekend on a rural road in Nongree in the early morning hours.

They and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find both the damaged car and the power pole.

The driver, who was later identified as Mr. Patikorn Sriwongon, 32, from Nakhon Ratchasima, was stuck inside his vehicle.

It took about 20 minutes for rescue workers to free him out with a hydraulic cutter. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.

However, an autopsy is being conducted along with an alcohol blood test to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the fatal accident.
