Chonburi truck driver dies while repairing his brakes

Chonburi –

A truck driver tragically died in front of his wife when he was crushed under his vehicle while he attempted to repair the brakes in Si Racha.

Rescue workers were notified of the incident earlier this week near a rural intersection in the Surasak sub-district.

They and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find Mr. Lek Sapkong, 70, a truck driver. He was unconscious with severe head injuries and bleeding heavily. He was later pronounced dead by rescue staff.

Mrs. Laddawan Teanthong, 69, his wife, told The Pattaya News, “He was checking the brakes and the hydraulics under the truck when the hydraulics appeared to slow down. His head became trapped and he was killed under his vehicle.”

Si Racha police stated there would be no charges in the incident and expressed their condolences to his wife.
