Chonburi woman rescued from jumping off pedestrian bridge

Chonburi –

A 45-year-old woman has been rescued after trying to jump from a pedestrian bridge in Mueang Chonburi today.

Emergency responders were notified of the incident at 4:00 PM at a pedestrian bridge on Sukhumvit Road in the Huay Kapi sub-district.

Police, emergency responders, and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find a 45-year-old who took off her clothes and was then trying to jump off the pedestrian bridge. Her name was withheld per editorial policy.

It took about 15 minutes for police and emergency responders to talk to and help the woman back inside the safety of the covered bridge.

Witnesses told the Pattaya News the woman is a taxi motorbike driver. She might have suffered from an economic crisis and resulting mental breakdown. She was taken to a psychiatric center for mental assistance.
