The Thai Criminal Court today, April 2nd, has approved a temporary release of WeVo (We Volunteer) guard leader Piyarat “Toto” Chongthep.
Toto was arrested at Major Cineplex Ratchayothin of the capital during a pro-democracy march to the Criminal Court in the late evening of March 6th.
According to the Bangkok police, Toto and other protest guards were carrying a weapon and physically assaulted several riot police during the arrest. He was detained at Bangkok Remand Prison for 26 days before the Court hearing this afternoon.
As of this evening, Toto was granted bail with bail money of 45,000 baht under the condition that he must not carry a weapon to join a pro-democracy protest and must not use force against police officials.
