Banglamung –
A middle-aged Thai man was found hanging from a rope on a tree along the roadside in Banglamung yesterday (March 31st).
The Nongprue Police was notified of the incident at 6:00 P.M. near Road No 36 (Bypass Pattaya – Rayong Road) in the Pong sub-district.
Police and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the body of the man who was later identified by police as a 51-year-old Thai man. His name was withheld per editorial policy.
He was found hanging from a rope on a tree with a motorbike found nearby. Police believe that the man passed away at least two days before his body was discovered, despite hanging from a fairly well-traveled roadway. No signs of struggle were found on his body or the nearby area.
The discovery was made by a local man who was driving a motorbike and had noticed the horrific scene and immediately contacted police for assistance.
The Nongprue Police Chief Colonel Chitdaecha Songhong told The Pattaya News, “His wife told us three days ago they were arguing before the man disappeared. However, an autopsy is being conducted to find his cause of death.”
Nongprue police have not explicitly declared the death as a suicide although that is the primary assumption at this point.
