More than 70 athletes have joined in marine sports competitions in Jomtien over the past weekend, say organizers of the event.

The competition officially started at Jomtien Beach and was led by the Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunplume on Friday (March 27th).

About 70 athletes from the Thai Paddle Board Association and Thai Windsurfing Association from all around Thailand joined in on the competition from March 26th to March 28th.

Mayor Sonthaya told The Pattaya News, “The competition is aimed to attract more tourists to Pattaya as well as to support Pattaya sports to build up to international levels.”

The competition continues next weekend on Jomtien Beach along with closing and award ceremonies.
