One dead after two-vehicle motor accident at Chonburi’s shark roundabout

Chonburi-

A young male driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after their motorbike collided with a sedan at a roundabout in Mueang Chonburi Tuesday night (March 23th).

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 11:30 P.M. at Shark Roundabout on Beach Road in the Bang Plasoi sub-district.

First responders arrived at the scene to find both a damaged sedan and the motorbike near the roundabout.

The motorbike driver, Mr. Narongrit Kongkaew, 25, from Chonburi was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

A motorbike passenger riding with Narongrit, Mr. Sanguansit, 26, had sustained various injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for immediate medical assistance.

The sedan driver, Mr. Sirawit, 60, told associated Thai press, “I was driving my sedan inside the roundabout when Narongrit ran into my vehicle. He was driving at high-speed and appeared to lose control.”

Police are checking CCTV footage to verify Mr. Sirawit’s statement and plan to interview Mr. Sanguansit when he recovers from his injuries at a local hospital.
