Pattaya, Thailand-
The anticipated Songkran wonder Wave concert series at Ramayana water park which was set for the Songkran period in mid-April has been postponed to October.
The decision comes as a result of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) deeming that only traditional activities can take place for Songkran this year. Traditional activities include attending religious services at temples, cleaning family homes, and paying respect to elders. The decision was made to prevent the possible spread of Covid-19.
Although the event was sponsored and promoted by multiple major organizations including the Thai Tourism Authority the decision by the CCSA means that regardless of Covid-19 precautions being made around the event it was decided to postpone the event to October 29th to 31st.
A postponement will also, according to organizers, allow more foreign tourists to hopefully join the event in the fall as it is hoped by this time borders will be open in some form to foreign tourists.
The event will also likely be able to have interactive water shows and water sprayed on audiences in the fall which would not be allowed now.
