Chonburi –
Two people have sustained serious injuries after a two-truck collision on the Chonburi motorway over the past weekend.
The Highway Police was notified of the accident on a motorway after midnight on Saturday, March 13th, over the past weekend in the Nong Ree sub-district.
Emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find a smaller truck driver had crashed head-on with a larger blue truck on the motorway.
An unidentified man, who was dazed and unable to answer questions or provide identification, was stuck inside the larger truck and had broken both legs. The other injured person was found in the pickup truck’s passenger seat which was identified as Mr. Watchasin Rakkitwattana, 27, with head injuries. They were both rushed to a local hospital. The driver of the smaller vehicle was not injured and declined medical assistance or being named to the press.
No witnesses were found at the scene. However, police are reviewing CCTV footage nearby to find the exact cause of the accident. Chonburi police reportedly took a statement from the uninjured driver of the smaller vehicle but did not release the statement to the press.
