Canadian expat and 3-year-old son suffer minor injuries in Pattaya area motorbike accident

Banglamung, Pattaya, Chonburi –

A Canadian expat and his 3-year-old son have sustained mostly minor injuries after a motorbike accident in Banglamung yesterday morning (February 27th).

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 9:30 A.M. on Phon Prapa Nimit Road. (Soi Golf course) in the Nongprue sub-district yesterday morning, February 27th, 2021.

Rescue staff and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene of the accident to find a Canadian expat identified as Mr. John L., 65, and a three-year-old Canadian boy, his son. Nearby, rescue staff found John’s damaged red motorbike.

Both the ex-pat and his son sustained mostly minor injuries, however, they agreed to be taken to a nearby hospital for a check-up following the accident.

Mr. Kanitsapong Hansa, 19, a Canadian national who is Mr. John’s elder son, told The Pattaya News, “My father took my younger brother on his motorbike to run an errand.”

“My dad lost control and crashed into a broken power pole on the side of the road. He might have fainted as he has some personal health problems.” Kanitsapong concluded.

John did not speak directly with the press and he and his son are expected to make a full recovery following the harrowing accident.
