A middle-aged male Thai driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after he crashed his motorbike into a roundabout in the Pan Thong district this week.
The Pan Thong Police was notified of the accident in the late afternoon earlier this week.
Emergency responders arrived at the roundabout to find the damaged motorbike that had collided with barriers around the central structure of the road.
Nearby, rescue staff found the body of the driver, Mr. Somsak Somphon, 54. He had not been wearing a motorbike helmet and was bleeding heavily from a wound to his skull.
A witness, Ms. Son Chimnakboon, 65, told associated Thai press, “Mr. Somsak was driving at high speed before crashing into the roundabout, Mr. Somsak appeared to lose control due to the speed of his vehicle.”
However, Pan Thong police are reviewing CCTV nearby to find the exact cause of the accident.
