Pattaya police stated that they are hunting for a suspect in a home robbery and break-in, allegedly stealing valuables and cash from a Chinese ex-pat who is a local businessman and lives in the Pattaya area.
Lieutenant Colonel Teetat Tarunjan of the Nongprue Police inspected a home located in a private housing estate in Nongprue this afternoon (February 16th).
Mr. Win Lua, 33, a Chinese national who expatriated to Pattaya, a businessman who legally imports vehicle parts from China to a vehicle company in Si Racha, was waiting for police at his home with his family members.
Win Lua told Nongprue Police, “This morning, a man who appears to be Thai based on CCTV footage, aged around 30, broke into my home while we were out.”
“He stole a backpack with 10,000 baht cash inside, a laptop worth about 60,000 baht, and two ATM cards before fleeing the scene.”
Colonel Teetat told The Pattaya News, “We found the backpack in question abandoned nearby in the housing state, although the cash was missing. Several other items in the bag, including electronic devices, were left behind.”
Colonel Teetat stated that police are utilizing CCTV footage released by the victims as well as CCTV in the housing estate to locate the suspect and are following several prominent leads in the investigation currently. If you recognize the suspect in the photos, please call the Pattaya Police station at 191.
