Bangkok –
Bangkok police yesterday, February 8th, went to investigate in front of the Myanmar Embassy on Sathong road in the capital in the evening as loud explosions were heard twice after a protest of Myanmar people against a military takeover in their country.
Police Major General Methee Rakphan, commander of the Metropolitan Police Division 6, along with the EOD team arrived at the scene and found scattered pieces of what was, according to Major General Methee, believed to be improvised explosive devices.
No one was reportedly injured during the incident. According to the Major General, it was believed by the authorities that the bombs were made to create disorder rather than to take life.
Meanwhile, Police Lieutenant General Phakphong Phongphetra will call a meeting with related senior officers this afternoon regarding the situation and will provide more details and investigation progress to the public later.
