Pattaya, Thailand
The Glory Hut Foundation, also known as the Prasiri Hut Foundation, has been struggling like many during the current Covid-19 crisis in Chonburi.
Chonburi is currently considered a highly controlled zone due to recent outbreaks of Covid-19 and as a result has tough travel restrictions and many closures and other measures making life difficult for many. The lack of tourists, closed businesses and especially lack of domestic travel have hurt many charities in the Pattaya area recently.
Chonburi has been under this status of being highly controlled since December 30th of last year.
Although Covid-19 cases have dropped significantly, with Pattaya having no cases in the past seven days, health officials feel it is too early to lift restrictions at this time. As a result many places are struggling. In the past week alone we have highlighted Father Ray, Baan Kruja and now the Glory Hut.
Mrs. Nipa Nuankaew, a staff member at the Hut, spoke with The Pattaya News about the difficulty the Hut was having due to the recent closures and lack of sponsors.
She said that a recent group of kind people had brought some basic supplies and fresh water which was badly needed and was a substantial step forward for the center. However, the need remains and the Hut is not sure how long this current situation will last.
The Hut has a total of 42 patients, many of them bed bound. The Hut also has at least one foreigner and several youth.
Nipa said she was very thankful for the recent donation of water and fresh vegetables, as well as other supplies, from some concerned members of the community but stated that the need of the residents was still high and funds were low.
If anyone wishes to help the Glory Hut is located at Soi Huai Ta Nuat – Thung Klom Soi 16, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province or they can be contacted at phone number 0869619979 Re: Mrs. Nipa Nuankaew.
