Pattaya motorbike thief fails and is immediately arrested

Pattaya-

A failed motorbike thief was immediately caught in Pattaya by local residents and police early this morning (December 24th).

The Pattaya City Police along with the Pattaya City Law Enforcement were notified of the incident at 3:00 A.M. in Soi Rung Land in South Pattaya.

They and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find an intoxicated suspect being restrained by Good Samaritans near the motorbike in question.

The suspect, Mr. Panumart Wonganan, 44, who was heavily intoxicated according to Pattaya Police was found nearby. He had been caught and restrained by local residents.

Panumart, however, has claimed he was not guilty and has so far rejected all accusations. He told Pattaya police that he was looking for a room to rent, despite it being 3:00 A.M.

The motorbike owner, Mr. Tatsanaphom Tetkham, 38, told police he was sleeping inside his room in an apartment building nearby. The building owner shouted out that someone was stealing a motorbike and woke him. He caught the suspect at the scene along with assistance from other residents. It is unclear at this point exactly how the building owner caught the suspect in the alleged act.

Police are still investigating the incident and reviewing CCTV in the area. They will determine exact charges following this standard legal procedure.
