Four high-risk and thirty moderate-risk patients in Phichit test negative for Covid19 during quarantine so far, doctor reassures public confidence

Phichit –

The Phichit Provincial Health Office revealed this morning, December 4th, that four locals in a high-risk group and thirty people in a moderate risk group had tested negative for the Covid-19 Coronavirus so far after being in close contact with a Phichit native who sneaked into Thailand illegally from Myanmar and was infected with Covid-19.

Four high-risk patients had Covid-19 tests while being quarantined under the supervision of provincial medical officers. The results were proven negative, including another thirty moderate risk patients who were reportedly in the same place during the same time as the infected returnee. However, all of them must complete their isolation for fourteen days before having Covid19 tests again.

Dr. Wisit Apisitwittaya, Health Protection specialist, told the press that his medical team went to monitor the CCTV footage around the area where the infected had been, gave advice to local people who traveled in the same place and time, and asked them to perform self-isolation for at least fourteen days.

Those who are considered at high risk must be quarantined at government-provided state quarantine accommodation and must be tested for infection on a regular basis. Those who are considered a moderate risk and are self quarantined must provide detailed information to health officials located in twelve districts. Meanwhile, the doctor reassured the public not to panic and people and tourists could still travel around the province, but under strict health regulations.

“We confirm that everyone can travel safely but should be closely following updates and news from government agencies, which will provide you information every day to reassure confidence for Phichit people.” Wisit stressed.
