Pattaya, Thailand-
Pattaya City, fresh off a two day fireworks festival that saw Pattaya the busiest since before Covid-19, will be holding another two day festival later this month, December 11th and 12th, featuring dozens of popular Thai artists on four stages.
The event is expected to draw thousands of domestic tourists to Pattaya like the previous Fireworks Festival, especially young Thais.
Beach Road will be closed to traffic from the Dolphin Roundabout to Soi 10 from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM on both Friday December 11th and Saturday December 12th.
Central Pattaya Klang will be closed from Second Road to Pattaya Beach.
There will be four stages in total, three on Pattaya Beach and one on Jomtien Beach.
Additionally, dozens of food vendors, culture shows and other attractions will be set up on Pattaya Beach and Central Festival is expected to have their own smaller stage and features.
The Pattaya City Mayor, Sonthaya Khunplume, told the Pattaya News that several changes would take place after studying the Pattaya Fireworks Festival and the massive crowds that ground the city practically to a halt traffic wise. More traffic police would be in place across the city, a portion of Beach Road would remain open from Soi 10 onwards, and other smaller adjustments would be made. Additionally, concerns of vendors leaving trash and other issues would also be addressed to ensure that the environment stayed pristine during the event.
The Mayor also encouraged Covid-19 protection measures such as wearing masks, keeping social distance and washing ones hands, bringing up the number of large crowds and some people not wearing masks at the Fireworks event. Four domestic cases of Covid-19 were recently found in the Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai area in Thailand, reminding Thai residents that they must keep up their guard.
