A sedan was found driving on a bridge early this week that is only for pedestrians and motorbikes in Ban Bueng.
A motorbike driver, Mr. Kittiphong Chonsiripong, told The Pattaya News, “The bridge is near the Big C Ban Bueng branch.”
“The bridge is only used for motorbikes to make a U-turn as it is very narrow. I have never seen any car on here.”
“The small sedan driver was a woman but I am not sure if she was intoxicated. ” Kittiphong added.
A local resident, Mr, Paiboon Trisart, 45, told reporters, “In the past ten years I have never seen any car on this bridge make a U-turn.”
The Ban Bueng Mayor, Mr. Surasit Kangwonkit, spoke after the incident went viral on Thai social media and stated to reporters “This bridge is for motorbikes and pedestrians only.”
“However, after this incident, we will have to install signs to inform the public that the bridge is not for cars. We are also working on identifying the driver in the footage to speak with her.” Surasit concluded.
