Three people were injured today in a multi vehicle accident involving two large trucks and a motorbike.
The Panthong Police were notified of the accident at 3:30 PM on Panthong Bankao Road.
Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene of the accident to find a heavily damaged trailer truck. The driver, Mr. Somboon Ngatsantiea, 64, had sustained moderate injuries.
A second smaller damaged truck was found nearby. The driver, Mr. Tanakorn Sanema, 35, was stuck inside the cab but uninjured. Rescue workers used a jaw of life device to free Tanakorn.
A motorbike was also was found on the road. The driver, Mr. Poomthon Yomsri, 23, and his passenger Ms. Arreeya Jaruektham, 21, had both sustained injuries. They were all taken to a local hospital.
Witnesses told police that the motorbike driven by Poomthon reportedly made a sudden turn without warning. The trailer truck driver tried to avoid the collision but crashed with the smaller truck instead, slightly hitting the motorbike driven by Poomthon.
Pan Thong police are continuing their investigation for further potential legal action.
