Thai husband shot to death by his wife after reported quarrel and physical harassment in Trang

Trang –

A married woman, Chulalak Longlalueng, was arrested and charged with killing her own husband, Jareuk Burapha, 43, at her father’s house in Trang province yesterday, September 22, after reportedly having a quarrel after being disturbed by his alleged physical harassment.

Police from the Nong Trut Provincial Police Station arrived at the scene and found the body of Jareuk with five gunshot wounds to his back and one to his abdomen. His wife, Chulalak, who was holding her 11-month-old baby when police arrived, allegedly confessed to committing the murder and gave up her gun to the officers.

The initial investigation revealed that Jareuk was heavily drinking and reportedly drunk while he was arguing with his wife early in the morning. Chulalak then, according to her statement, took their child inside her father’s house nearby to escape a confrontation but the angry husband rushed to the house and began to allegedly smash doors and windows in what Chulalak described as a drunken rage.

The intense harassment eventually ended when the furious wife quickly grabbed her father’s firearm and reportedly shot him until she ran out of bullets, according to her statement. The victim was shot to death while he was trying to flee from the scene.

The alleged killer then reported the incident and reportedly admitted to the crime to the police officers, additionally claiming that her husband had physically abused her and her child many times while he was heavily drunk. He also reportedly harassed and caused trouble towards other villagers in the neighborhood.

Chulalak was initially charged for murder before being taken to the Nong Trut police station for interrogation and for further legal proceedings.
