Fire damages under construction fantasy themed café in Pattaya area

Banglamung-

A fire has damaged an under construction fantasy themed café in Pattaya near the Pattaya Court House this afternoon.

Fire fighters were notified of the fire at 4:00 PM on Thap Praya Road in Banglamung.

Fire fighters along with three fire engines and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the front of the under construction building, which is part of a larger complex, was ablaze.

Construction workers were helping to put out the fire when The Pattaya News arrived. It took about 30 minutes to control the fire in total.

Mr. Yuay Lomnak, 41, who is a worker at the construction site, told The Pattaya News that he and other workers were welding iron in the front building of the fantasy themed restaurant complex.

He did not realize that there were so many foam structures in the area. Some sparks from the welding fell on to the foam, he stated, before the fire started. The estimated amount of damage was not clear and fire investigation officials will examine the area tomorrow morning. There were no injuries.
