Pattaya man suffers serious injuries after his own brother stabs him in the stomach while drinking alcohol

Pattaya, Thailand-

A young Thai man has sustained serious stomach injuries after being reportedly stabbed by his own brother in Nongprue yesterday.

Captain Chaowalit Suwanmanee of the Pattaya City Police was notified of the incident yesterday evening at an apartment in Soi Korpai, Nongprue.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the injured party Mr. Mongkon Naksawang, 26.

He had sustained serious stomach injuries and suffered several stab wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital for medical assistance.

The suspect, Nantakorn Naksawang, 22, who is the injured man’s younger brother, was arrested at the scene of the crime. A 15 centimeter long knife was found in a storm drain nearby.

The suspect told police that the duo had both been heavily drinking alcohol all day. He claims his elder brother attacked him first after a verbal argument and hit him multiple times with his fists.

Nantakorn stated that he used the knife to fight back but he had not intended to cause his older brother to sustain serious injuries. He stated that he was very sorry over the incident.

The suspect refused to say what exactly started the fighting. However, he is facing multiple legal charges and remains in police custody as of press time.
